The expectations in this folder are reproduced from The Ontario Curriculum, Grades 9 and 10: Mathematics (revised 2005), the Grade 10 academic course MPM2D, published by the Ontario Ministry of Education, together with the Ministry’s Addendum to Principles of Mathematics (issued Winter 2022, effective September 2022), which added three expectations — B1.3, B1.4, and B1.5 — to bridge from the de-streamed Grade 9 course.

About the codes
Unlike newer curricula, the 2005 document prints no expectation codes. The codes used here —
A1,B2.3, and so on — are positional labels in the style teachers and course outlines commonly use: strands A/B/C in document order, overall expectations numbered within each strand, specific expectations numbered within each overall’s group. They are consistent within this site, but you will not find them printed in the Ministry’s pages.
Each page keeps its code, and every lesson, exploration, and task in
this course links back to the codes it addresses. The codes are also
tags, so every page tagged #A3 can be gathered in one place.
Why the codes matter more than they look
A code is a shared address. When a student asks “why are we doing this?”, the answer is a link. When a department writes a course outline, or a teacher takes over a class partway through, the codes are what make one person’s planning legible to another.
